Cranleigh Freight Services Ltd understands the importance of environmental awareness and despite the current harsh economic climate, has committed to a wide range of initiatives as detailed within the CFS Environmental & Sustainability Policy 2008. Launched in January, the Policy addresses key environmental issues and the initiatives are designed to reduce impact and increase the sustainable practices within the business
CFS in partnership with “The Tree Appeal” pledged to plant at least 100 trees throughout the year. The first 50 British Broadleaf trees have now been assigned to CFS & DHD customers. The trees are planted in the name of the customer, whom may request a designated plant site, such as a school, nursing home or nature park.
Becky Young, Group Sales & Marketing Manager CFS said: “I am delighted to announce the planting of the first 50 “customer” trees. The planting of these trees, takes a small but positive step to offsetting our carbon footprint and by directly involving our customers, we hope to encourage their own “green” initiatives and see the benefits of using a socially responsible transport company.”
