This week's rioting seen across the UK failed to halt the efforts of the UK freight sector, it has been revealed.
According to Road Transport, the industry responded in a stoic manner to the disruptions, with deliveries going ahead as usual despite the unrest in many of the UK's major cities.
Graham Rennie, director of fleet at firm 3663, told the publication: "No failed deliveries as yet and no reports of any no-go areas."
John Crosk, transport operations manager at Tradeteam, noted that all its services ran as normal.
The industry weathered the storm admirably, despite unrest in cities including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham and elsewhere.
Meanwhile, UK freight operators have been warned of possible disruptions due to roadworks along the M621.
Highways Agency project sponsor Sujad Hussain said: "This is vital but routine maintenance to ensure we continue to provide smooth, safe and reliable journeys for motorway users along this busy commuter route."
